Crime Watch

Crime Watch Committee

With the recent reduction in sworn police officers, we all need to be even more aware of what’s happening around us, to protect ourselves, our homes and our property.  Here are some tips to help you.  Your Crime Watch Committee recommends the following:

Garages

It’s important to keep our garage areas secure from theft and unwanted intruders.

  • Keep your garage door locked.
  • Make sure the garage service door is locked.
  • Make sure your neighbors lock their doors.  This is a common area and we all have to make the area safe and secure.

Your Car

Thefts and break-ins can occur anytime, but especially at night.  Don’t help thieves.

  • Lock your car wherever you park.  If it doesn’t lock, park it in your locked garage.
  • Don’t leave valuables in your car in sight.  Put them in the trunk or take them in with you.

Your Home

  • Lock your doors and windows when not at home.
  • Don’t let workmen in your home without knowing them.
  • Ask to see identification from utility representatives.
  • Don’t let workmen be alone in your home while working.

Property Damage and Vandalism

If you see someone damaging property or vandalizing our common areas, do the following:

  • DO NOT CONFRONT THEM.  Call the police!
  • If you see damaged property or areas that have been vandalized, call the office to report it.

Lights

Our street lights and property lights are there to provide you with lighting for your safety. Report to the office any street lights or property lights that are out.
